5 simple steps how to search effectively in the internet and find everything you want
Very often search of something ends in nothing or in too much search results. Here I will show simple and effective strategy to find your goal content using internet browser and notepad. Why notepad? because in a process of searching and analysing content found you could write all the ideas - or keywords to search further. You must use special keyword aggregation sequence and manipulate keywords - ideas to manage content.
I have been using search engines for about 10 years. I even have written some thesis on search engines:) . Here is BSS - Brainstorming Search Strategy (as I call it) (with examples):
Tools you will need: Internet browser - for searching:) , notepad (or other simple text editor) - for keywords management.
1. Define your search goal, write it in notepad, for instance: “to find information on slow carbs dieting”
2. Search in broad terms to find some needles in other users discussions, use “forum” of “blog” term additionally.: terms “slow carbs diet forum” : try it in Google
3. Find more specific words, or special words on topic.: lets take first url found in previous search. in forum found
we see some new words for our topic: “low GI diet”, mystical name “Atkins” everywhere, “Glycemic Index”- write these words in notepad. (You write all your search keywords here, notepad is your search keywords storage space)
4. Broaden search more - search specific theme words and - dive in details. Here you can open another browser window and search for terms you found, you can also use “wikipedia” term to find these terms explanations in Wikipedia.
5. Refine search by using format wanted extension - “chm”,”doc”,” xls”, “pdf”, usually good info are there, you can also use “thesis”, “paper”, “blog”.additionally.
In general you must search not for content, but for keywords. Instead of content - manage keywords.
You can also use more advanced software to manage keyword relations - MindMaping software .
One could say searching = ideas brainstorming. where ideas = keywords.
Good luck!
