How to finish all your tasks in time: Parkinson’s Law in action
To which, who don’t know, I’ll remind:
Parkinson’s Law: The job expands to fill the time available. (see more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkinson’s_law)
Example : If we have to do a task till 5.00 PM, but we can do it more quickly, we still tend to do it till the given time.
If a job takes 4 hours to finish, and we are given 12 hours for this job, we will finish it after about 12 hours:)
Solution:
If you want to be in time with all your tasks,
assign the task a more short deadline,
for example, if you have to do a report till 2 PM, assume you must do it till 11 AM. And surprisingly you will do it on time.
This is because as you make time duration narrow, you will start to think creatively and find a solution to finish the job till deadline.
This way you will become more productive and effective, try it!
